1. How Does Consignment or Selling My Item to The Luxury Lady Work?

At The Luxury Lady, we specialize in buying, selling, and trading gently used designer handbags and accessories. Many of our bags come from consignors located all over the U.S. When consignors are ready to part with their items, they can either bring them to our pick up and drop off hub by appointment or ship them to us. From that point on, The Luxury Lady handles the entire selling process, including photography, listing, selling, shipping, and even offering layaway plans. Consignors will receive 60% to 70% of the sale price, which is mutually agreed upon. Once the item is paid in full by the buyer, the consignor can expect to receive their payment within 10 business days of the item being processed out of our shop. Additionally, we offer trade-ins for store credit or cash up-front buyouts. Cash buyouts are paid out at only 10% less.

Options for selling your items:

  • BUYOUT: We will purchase your item outright for cash on the spot. The offer will be based on the price we expect to sell it for, and you will receive 60% of the quoted price for Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel and YSL brand items. All “other” brand items will receive 50% cash upfront.
  • CONSIGNMENT: Opt for consignment and let us sell your bag for you. We will agree on a price together, and once the item sells, you will receive 70% of the selling price for Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, and YSL brand items. All “other” brand items will receive 60%.
  • TRADE: Trade in an item you no longer use for something that is new to you! We offer 60% of what we hope to sell the item for as a trade-in value, which can be applied towards your new purchase. Trading an item saves you from paying sales tax on the amount that you trade, which is a huge win for you!

2. What Conditions Do You Accept?

At The Luxury Lady, we strive to cater to customers with various budgets by offering items of different condition ratings. Each item’s condition is classified as used, good, very good, great, excellent, or like new/giftable. We thoroughly detail any wear in the item’s condition write-up and/or provide photos for complete transparency.

3. What is the Authentication Process?

The Luxury Lady exclusively sells authentic designer items and backs each item sold with a financial guarantee promise. Our brand professional, Katie, has done extensive research and training on how to authenticate and distinguish real from fake. We initially inspect the item in person using a 4-step system. Then, we typically use Entrupy to double verify the item’s authenticity against our opinion of the item.
Our Entrupy scanner uses algorithms to microscopically verify the item’s authenticity by comparing the bag to thousands of microscopic images of the same caliber to ultimately deem the item as authentic or not. This type of authentication is 99.1% accurate.

4. How Long is the Consignment Term?

It is a 90 day consignment term. After the 90 days, you can request your items back if they don’t sell and we will cover the cost of the return shipping.

5. How do I Ship My Items to The Luxury Lady?

Ship your items using your preferred shipping method. Insuring your items is always recommended, but not required. A signature confirmation is not necessary as they will be shipped to a business address, so they won’t leave them at the doorstep. Once you have received your quotes, we will send further shipping information via email.

6. What if My Bag is Deemed Not Authentic?

The Luxury Lady exclusively sells authentic designer items only. If your item is deemed not authentic or questionable, we will return the item to you for a $75 return and authentication fee, or dispose of the item with your permission. It is illegal to sell counterfeit items.

7. How will I Know when You Receive My Items?

We will send you a message on social media or email to let you know that we have received your items.

8. Do I Need to Sign for a Seller Agreement?

Yes, when you click “Sell Now,” you will be asked to agree to our consigner terms in order to submit your items for review.
